Then we start our day with Diyarbakir's famous breakfast. After breakfast in Diyarbakir, we begin our tour inside the city walls where stone turns into art. First, we visit the Diyarbakır-born poet Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı Museum House, known for his poem "Age thirty-five, halfway down the road." In this beautiful house, you will see fine examples of regional civil architecture created with separate usage areas for each season. After our short break here, we visit the Grand Mosque, the first of Anatolia and the fifth Haram-i Sharif of the Islamic World, and see the Four-Footed Minaret (Sheikh Mutahhar Mosque) built in 1500 by Aq Qoyunlu Kasım Bey. Then, we panoramically see the oldest of Diyarbakir’s 9000-year-old walls, Goat Bastion, Urfa Gate, and Mardin Gate, proceeding to see and photograph the Hevsel Gardens by the Tigris River, which were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015 and have a unique place beyond their agricultural value. Next, we arrive at the Ten Eyed Bridge where local people write their wishes on a piece of cloth and throw them into the Tigris River during Hıdırellez. After our photo break here, we head towards the city of Prophets, Sanliurfa, where Prophet Ibrahim was born and thrown into the fire, Prophet Job suffered hardships, and Prophet Shuaib worshipped. We reach Fish Lake, one of the first places that comes to mind when Sanliurfa is mentioned. Fish Lake is located to the southwest of the city center and is known as the place where Prophet Ibrahim fell when thrown into the fire. With its sacred fish and the historical artifacts surrounding it, it is one of the most visited sites in Sanliurfa. After seeing Fish Lake (Halil-Ur Rahman) formed where Prophet Ibrahim fell into the fire and Aynzeliha Lake said to be formed from the tears of Nemrut’s daughter Zeliha, we get information from our guide and take a photo break. Then we provide free time for you to buy products unique to Urfa in Sanliurfa's authentic bazaars. After our free time, we head towards our hotel. Harran is protected with its Conical Domed Houses found in only 3 regions worldwide. In Harran, which has a 5000-year history and houses the first Islamic university, we see Harran University (Ulu Mosque), Harran Mound, Castle, Caravanserai, and Traditional Conical Domed Harran Houses and visit one of them. During our guesthouse visit, you can take photos wearing traditional clothes. After our Harran tour, we visit Prophet Job's Patience Station, where the prophet known for his patience among prophets suffered an illness and endured in a cave. Here we will see the cave where Prophet Job stayed throughout his illness, believed healing water well and the patience stone he leaned on. Following our visit here, we head to Gobeklitepe Mound near Orencik Village in Sanliurfa, which hosts the first temples of Anatolia and the world's civilization history and is on the Unesco World Heritage List. Changing not only the region's history but the history of humankind upon its discovery, Gobeklitepe dates back 12,000 years and was recently featured on the cover of National Geographic with the slogan "The Place Where Religion Was Born". After obtaining historical information about Gobeklitepe, considered the pilgrimage center of the Neolithic era, from our guide, we bid farewell to Sanliurfa and reach Mardin via Kızıltepe. Our first stop in Mardin is the Kasimiye Madrasah. Built during the Artukids and completed in the late 15th century during the Aq Qoyunlu Sultan Kasım Ibn Cihangir period, we explore the madrasa with information from our guide. Then we start our walk in the old streets of Mardin from Diyarbakir Gate. On our walking tour beginning from Republic Square, we will see Sheikh Cabuk Mosque, Mardin Protestant Church, Latifiye Mosque, Sokulbar (Cows Bazaar), and Coppersmiths Bazaar. During our walk, we will explore Mardin's symbolic Ulu Mosque with its segmented dome and minaret with our guide. According to records, the Mardin Ulu Mosque was initially built with two minarets. The inscription on the square base of the only existing minaret today mentions the construction year as 1176. However, the current minaret was built in 1888/1889 in a new and eclectic style. After receiving historical information from our guide, we continue our walk, passing through small tunnels (abbara) connecting the streets. We then see Şahtana Mansion, known as the PTT Building for a while and built by the Şahtana Family by Armenian Architect Lole in 1980. After seeing the Şehidiye Mosque built in the early 13th century by Artuklu Sultan Melik Nasreddin Artuk Aslan, we take a short break to enjoy our fatigue teas against the Mesopotamian Plain and take stunning photos. (If there is high demand, Mor Gabriel Monastery visit will be made instead.) Alive with history, the monastery holds the grave of 52 Syriac Patriarchs. We carry out visits to Mor Hananyo Church, House of Saints, Virgin Mary Church, and the Sun Temple and give free time upon obtaining information from our guide. The Deyrulzafaran Monastery, fascinating in its architecture and overlooking the Mardin Plain, will leave you in awe. After our free time, we conduct our tour of the Dara Ancient City with our guests. Located 30 km southeast of Mardin in Oğuz Village, the Dara Ancient City is one of Upper Mesopotamia's most important settlements. Composed of structures carved into rock and spread over a wide area, we explore the Dara Ancient City with our guide. After our tour of Dara Ancient City, we set off to Midyat, the meeting point of religions and languages. In Midyat, we conduct our Midyat Guest House tour where TV series like Sıla, Hercai, and Ah Bir Bulut Olsam were filmed. After our visit to the Guest House, where you can take various beautiful photos, we visit a filigree workshop to see and purchase examples of this art developed by Assyrian masters over the years and turned into a culture. After our filigree shopping, we provide free time to walk among the Historic Midyat Houses. Upon completion of our free time, we gather at our bus waiting in the bazaar to head to Hasankeyf. The history of Hasankeyf, dating back 12,000 years, saw a new settlement area built 3 km away as confirmed by the construction of the Ilısu Dam. Marking the melancholy of Hasankeyf which was submerged underwater as of February 2020, we give free time upon seeing its still magnificent Hasankeyf Castle, secret water tunnel, minaret of El Rizk Mosque and caves. (If available, extra Hasankeyf boat tour can be arranged.) We then pass panoramically viewing the donkey-head oil pumps through Batman, where Turkey’s first oil wells were found, to head towards Diyarbakır Airport to bid farewell to the enchanting lands of Mesopotamia we explored like a fairytale. Upon reaching the airport, we conclude our tour and start our return journey to meet again in another Turperest Tourism organization. Breakfast: Will be taken at the hotel.
